Type 14 (1317/18 - 1319) - Spink 1460, North 1065

Coins of type 14 are classified primarily by the form of the crown. It has a straight-sided central fleur with a very tall central leaf. The side-fleurs are straight, and the ornaments are vestigial (pointed stalks). The type has a large face with a pointed chin and an enigmatic smile. The letter E is initially the one that sustained a damaged back during type 13, but this was replaced during the issue by a new one with an angular back.
